As many of you know, I have been training in the wilderness alone for several years. Over my time in the forest, several well respected fighters and masters came to test my skills. Although I was officially in hiding, due to the elite assassination attempt on my master Andrew Brookman, I had to protect my identity. Nonetheless, masters would turn up and ask, "Are you truly a member of the feared Takeshi school?"

One day a brute named Lee turned up. "I have the strength of 1000 men" he claimed, "Even the most gallant warrior wouldn't stand a chance with me". I looked Lee in the eye, like an eagle searching for prey, and I could see the spirit of a ruffian. "How about we fight then?" I offered. Lee could see the essence of a true tiger within my soul, and ran off, never to be seen again.

I have recently offered Ben Gash a challenge match on the Southern Forum, but as all of you can see, he has exposed himself to be none other than another Master Lee.

I'd like to share a secret method with you. In the advanced stages of my elite training, I was taught a technique for knowing every fact imaginable. Of course, this does not refer to ideas it is impossible to know (how old is my brother? What colour is my car? etc.), but with so-called 'conventional facts' (what is the tallest building in the world? How many countries are there in Africa?).

Due to the secret methods I learned from my Grandmaster, I am now able to perform this feat. If you don't believe me, please feel free to ask any question and I will try to answer it.

I was once in the mountains when I was attacked by a group of hoodlums. Thankfully my training came out and I was able to defeat them without causing any damage.

the only thing i have to go on is the intentional smiling he incorporates into his practice. perhaps it was qi gung or maybe a style of wushu, i cannot remember.

but the smiling was an important aspect in the training.

The internet was my faithful companion for many years, but there are some places technology and science can't take you my friends. Let me explain. Many years ago when I was simply an 8th kyu, I spent hours online debating the finer points of the martial and spiritual arts. Discrepancies over lineage and form were the order of the day - in some ways it was a simpler time. I started training in a modified version of Judo from John Takeshi's lineage under the tutelage of Grandmaster Brookman, often known casually as 'Andy'.

One day everything changed. An elite squad took out Andy and everyone in his dojo and I was forced to go rogue. I went into hiding for a number of years. I learned to hunt from the forest, studied the medicinal properties of herbs in the gardens, danced with the graceful movements of the birds in the trees. My only possession from my days in the dojo - a book, 'The Secrets of Takeshi Jitsu'. Every day I studied from the manual. Within a year I was able to conquer any beast of the forest, within two my mind was in tune with the fluttering of the hummingbird.

Now I'm back, and it's time to take out the trash.

My lineage was insulted dearly by several members of this forum, and even when true mastery approached, several refused to respect the dojo of my Grandmaster. For this reason, I offer an open challenge to those who offended me all those years ago.

John WOO 吳宇森 will direct Day of the Beast, a remake of SUZUKI Seijun 鈴木清順's yakuza classic Youth of the Beast 野獣の青春 (1963).

The project is a co-production between Nikkatsu Corp 日活, who made the original movie, and Woo and Terence CHANG 張家振's Lion Rock Productions 獅子山製作有限公司. Nikkatsu is this year celebrating their 100th anniversary.

In a statement, John Woo said, "This remake is my salute to the great films and filmmakers produced by Nikkatsu's 100 years in cinema history. It is exciting for me as well as an honor."

Woo's regular producer Chang added, "Seijun Suzuki's Youth of the Beast is one of my favourite films, and I have been obsessed with remaking it for over 10 years! I have to thank Nikkatsu for this partnership and for making this dream come true!"

Nikkatsu president SATO Naoki 佐藤直樹, who also produces, said, "Among [our] 6,000+ film library, this is one of our most revered titles. We think this is a great way to start off the next 100 years of filmmaking history!"

The new film is described as "an action-packed saga of loyalty, revenge and redemption which erupts in the heart of Tokyo" featuring a "western outsider" during a war between old-school Russian gangsters and a new breed of Japanese yakuza.

John Woo's politically-sensitive historical romance Love and Let Love 生死戀 is believed to be having difficulties securing script approval from the State Administration of Radio, Film & Television (SARFT) 國家廣播電影電視總局.
